Provifai identifies indicators; you provide the explanation. This division of roles is intentional and forms the legal foundation: the transparency obligation of the EU AI Act applies to the operator — and your documented declaration is your proof of compliance.
The three responses to a finding
“Is AI” — the content is now labelled: visibly on your website, machine-readable in your labelling list, and documented in the audit trail. If desired, with specification of the tool used.
“Is authentic” — you dispute the indicator. The content is removed from the AI inventory without debate: you know your content better than any analysis, and this is precisely what the audit trail records.
“Own content” — for texts and media created with AI assistance but under your editorial responsibility. For such editorially responsible texts, Article 50(4) of the EU AI Act expressly provides an exemption from the labelling requirement.
Visible labelling — your way
By default, the snippet places the visible notice directly on the content. If your website already provides its own labelling — for example, a caption under each gallery image or a watermark in the video — you can disable automatic marking for individual items. The declaration remains valid and continues to count towards your certificate; it is documented where the visible labelling is instead displayed.
The audit trail
Every declaration is recorded with its timestamp and method, and signed with the certificate. Should an authority, lawyer, or business partner ever ask how you handle AI-generated content: you present a complete, dated history rather than an assurance.
